A car worth approximately 15 million lira, which was left at a repair shop in Büyükçekmece, was totaled due to an accident caused by the test driver. The owner of the vehicle, Ömer Çelik, said, "It has been 5 days since I bought it. An accident occurred. Of course, I was very upset when I first heard. We haven't even had the chance to drive the car; it was gone before we could."
Ömer Çelik, who works in the fuel and construction sector in Silivri, left his luxury car worth 15 million lira at a repair shop in Büyükçekmece on August 13. The master, who took the car for a test drive to understand the reason for the noise coming from the vehicle while it was in motion, lost control of the steering and had an accident. After the accident, Çelik left the car with the same repairman and requested that the master who caused the accident buy the vehicle to cover the expenses.
"IT HAS BEEN 5 DAYS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR, I AM VERY SAD"
The owner of the luxury car, Ömer Çelik, said, "I bought the car on the 13th of the month. It has been 5 days since I bought it. An accident occurred. First of all, there is no problem regarding health. Thank God, everyone is in good health. There is nothing to be done. Better a loss of property than a loss of life. I left it because the rear diffuser of the car fell off. Also, there was a wind noise. To check that, the guys took it for a test drive. When they went for the test drive, they informed me. But they told me I could come and pick up the car an hour later. About 4-5 hours later, while I was doing a transaction at the notary, I received a phone call. They said they had an accident, and I asked for a photo. When they sent the photo, of course, I was sad; we just bought the car," he said.
"WE SAID 'CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR HOUSE'
Ömer Çelik stated, "We said 'congratulations on your house.' Then we went to them and talked. We are victims; they said they would compensate for our victimization. Of course, I was very sad when I first heard it. Because we had never even been in the car. It left without us being able to ride it. There is nothing to be done. There was no argument between us. Because they are already tradesmen, people we know. There is no problem; they said they would compensate for your victimization. The car did not have insurance. We will give them the sale of the car. We said to give us some time. We reached an agreement and talked," he expressed.
"A RARE SUPER SPORTS CAR"
Çelik said, "We thought the incident could become news, of course. It is not a standard vehicle. It is a super sports car. Since it is a rare vehicle, we thought it would be newsworthy. It became a kind of advertisement for them, both good and bad. There is no good or bad advertisement after all. There is nothing to be done. Everyone is a victim in this matter. There are an estimated 40-50 of these cars in Turkey. Everyone knows each other's cars. That's why it became quite a topic. There is nothing to be done. We are sad. Better a loss of property than a loss of life. I have no complaints; may it be halal," he said.
