The person who paid the highest income tax in Turkey for the year 2024 is Selçuk Bayraktar, the Chairman of the Board of Baykar, with his export revenues.
The Revenue Administration (GİB) announced the taxpayers who paid the most income tax for the 2024 taxation period. At the top of the list is Selçuk Bayraktar, known for his pioneering work in the defense industry.
SELÇUK BAYRAKTAR IN FIRST PLACE
Bayraktar became Turkey's highest taxpayer by paying 2 billion 767 million 587 thousand 718 lira in income tax. He was followed by his brother Lütfü Haluk Bayraktar, who secured the second place with 2 billion 528 million 619 thousand 921 lira in taxes.
KOÇ FAMILY IN 4TH PLACE ON THE LIST
The taxpayer in third place requested not to have their name disclosed. In fourth place, businessman Mustafa Rahmi Koç paid 757 million 755 thousand 302 lira in taxes, while Mehmet Ömer Koç found himself in 12th place with 356 million 169 thousand 109 lira. In 10th place, Erman Ilıcak drew attention with 372 million 720 thousand 505 lira in taxes. It was reported that many taxpayers requested not to have their names disclosed.
5.1 MILLION PEOPLE SUBMITTED DECLARATIONS
For the year 2024, a total of 5 million 132 thousand 895 taxpayers submitted income tax declarations across Turkey. A total tax base of 1 trillion 407 billion 889 million 486 thousand 11 TL was declared with these declarations. Income tax of 418 billion 465 million 820 thousand 799 TL was assessed on this amount.
CITIES OF THE HIGHEST TAXPAYERS
The distribution of the top 100 taxpayers by province was also announced. Accordingly, Istanbul ranked first with 75 taxpayers. It was followed by Ankara (10), Izmir (6), Gaziantep (5), Eskişehir (2), Bursa (1), and Karabük (1). On average, each taxpayer declared a tax base of 274 thousand 288 TL, while an average tax of 81 thousand 526 TL was assessed.
