Four suspects, three of whom are foreign nationals, were caught as a result of police surveillance for conducting illegal excavations under the pretext of digging a toilet pit in the Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir. Legal action was taken against the suspects under the Law No. 2863 on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets.

The tip-off regarding excavation activities near Babaçeşmesi Mevkii in the Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir prompted police teams to take action.

THEIR EXCUSE WAS DIGGING A TOILET PIT

During the checks conducted by the Nasrettin Hoca Police Station teams, it was determined that Turkish citizen H.Y.O. and foreign nationals M.S.S., R.A., and M.A. were found near the scene, around a small makeshift structure. The suspects, who reside in Ankara and are known to visit the area occasionally for barbecuing, stated that they were digging to open a toilet pit.

PROCEDURES WERE APPLIED

It was learned that procedures were applied against the mentioned individuals, who were determined to have conducted illegal excavations, under the Law No. 2863 on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets.
