The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 103 of the 225 suspects detained in the investigation into the crime of 'being a member of a terrorist organization' ahead of the NATO Summit in the capital have been arrested. Judicial control measures were imposed on 26 suspects, while law enforcement proceedings against the other suspects are ongoing.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a statement regarding the investigation carried out to expose the activities of terrorist organizations across the country, ahead of the "NATO Heads of State and Government Summit" to be held in the capital. The statement provided information about the legal process concerning 225 suspects taken into custody on charges of being a member of a terrorist organization.
135 SUSPECTS REFERRED TO COURT
According to the Prosecutor's Office statement, 135 of the 225 suspects taken into custody for being members of a terrorist organization were brought to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in person. Among the suspects whose statements were taken, 6 were released by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
103 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reported that 129 suspects were referred to the criminal court of peace with a request for arrest on charges of being a member of a terrorist organization. As a result of the evaluation by the court, 103 suspects were arrested.
JUDICIAL CONTROL FOR 26 SUSPECTS
The criminal court of peace decided to impose judicial control measures for 26 suspects. The Prosecutor's Office statement noted that police procedures for other suspects are ongoing.
