As part of the bribery investigation conducted by the Marmaris Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 4 out of 13 suspects were arrested and sent to prison. The investigation began when a municipal employee was caught taking a bribe.
The operation carried out by the Marmaris Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Marmaris Municipality resulted in the detention of 13 suspects, 4 of whom were arrested and sent to prison after their procedures at the courthouse. It was learned that the investigation into bribery allegations in the zoning works of the Marmaris Municipality began when a municipal employee, T.D., was caught red-handed receiving a bribe of 4 thousand dollars. Following this development, a detention order was issued for a total of 13 individuals deemed to be connected to the incident.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION CONDUCTED
In the operation carried out the day before yesterday, searches were conducted simultaneously in the offices of the relevant individuals in the municipal building and in the homes of the suspects. Among those detained were Deputy Mayor Ö.H., Zoning Director İ.P., engineers V.Ç., T.D., and C.C., Deputy Chief of Police M.K., tradesman T.K., muhtar F.T., contractor M.G., accountant F.K., freelance professional M.Ş., and municipal employees N.C. and H.P.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES IN MULTIPLE DIRECTIONS
After a four-day detention period, the suspects were brought to the courthouse. M.G., H.P., and N.C., whose statements were taken, were released. T.K., F.T., M.K., C.C., and M.Ş. were released under judicial control, while Deputy Mayor Ö.H., Zoning Director İ.P., engineers V.Ç. and T.D., and accountant F.K. were brought to court with a request for arrest.
At the end of the court session that started at midnight and lasted until the morning hours, Deputy Mayor Ö.H., Zoning Director İ.P., engineers V.Ç. and T.D. were arrested and sent to prison. F.K. was released under judicial control. It was learned that the investigation is ongoing in multiple directions.
