A new decision regarding APP plates, known for being non-standard, has been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the responsibility of the Turkish Drivers and Automobile Federation for APP plates has been recognized. It is stated that APP plates will be replaced free of charge by the federation, and a new plate will be issued without requiring a plate printing document.
The Turkish Drivers and Automobile Federation (TŞOF) will change APP plates for free. According to the new decision, if the police find the plate to be contrary to the regulations, TŞOF will issue a new one without requesting a plate printing document.
TŞOF WILL CHANGE APP PLATES FOR FREE
With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, while inspections on the use of non-standard APP plates have increased, the responsibilities of the Turkish Drivers and Automobile Federation in the plate printing process have been redefined. Accordingly, the federation will change APP plates for free, and a new one will be issued without requesting a plate printing document.
HEAVY FINES WILL BE IMPOSED ON THOSE CONTINUING TO USE APP PLATES
The new article states: “In the event that a plate is printed contrary to the qualifications or measurements specified in this Regulation by the authorized organization for plate printing, no plate printing request document will be required for the reprinting of the registration plate if detected by the traffic police. The mentioned plates will be changed by the authorized organization for plate printing without any fee being requested.”
Drivers who continue to use APP plates that do not comply with the standards may face heavy fines during traffic inspections and will also not be able to pass the vehicle inspection.
