Iran announced an alternative route for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which it stated would be closed to traffic. The ports and Maritime Organization requested that ships planning to transit the Strait of Hormuz coordinate with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy due to the potential risk of sea mines. Alternative routes have been established to ensure maritime safety.

After the ceasefire established between the USA and Iran, significant developments continue to occur in the region. In this context, a new step has been taken regarding the Strait of Hormuz, which was said to be closed, from Iran.

The Iranian state television published the announcement made by the Ports and Maritime Organization regarding the ships waiting to transit in the Persian Gulf.

The announcement stated, "In order to ensure maritime safety and prevent contact with possible sea mines, it is necessary to use the alternative routes specified below in accordance with the attached map, in coordination with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, until a second announcement is made."

ENTRY AND EXIT ROUTE TO THE STRAIT EXPLAINED

The entry and exit route to the strait was explained with a map. The entry route was indicated as proceeding north from the Oman Sea, passing near Larek Island, and then continuing towards the Persian Gulf, while the exit route was reported as starting from the Persian Gulf, passing south of Larek Island, and then continuing towards the Oman Sea.

IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ WAS CLOSED

In a report by the semi-official Fars News Agency, known for its closeness to the Revolutionary Guard Corps, it was stated that the Strait of Hormuz, which was announced to be opened for the passage of ships after the temporary ceasefire reached between the USA and Iran, was closed due to Israel's attacks on Lebanon.

According to Tasnim News Agency, during the ceasefire period, transits through the Strait of Hormuz would not be possible without the permission of the Iranian Armed Forces, and it was reported that many ships still remained in the area where they could not exit.
