A 14-year-old girl in the USA calmly sent a message to her friend after killing her mother and injuring her stepfather.

A shocking murder case is being seen in the state of Mississippi in the USA. 15-year-old Carly Gregg is accused of killing her mother and injuring her stepfather when she was 14 years old.

Security camera footage taken on the day of the incident shows Gregg calmly walking around the kitchen and attending to her phone immediately after shooting her mother. It is alleged that Gregg shot and killed her mother Ashley Smylie in the face, then called her stepfather Heath to the house and also injured him.

Heath, who testified in court, said that when he arrived home, he saw his wife's body and that Gregg also fired at him. Heath said he was able to stop Gregg before she could take the gun.

Gregg's defense team is claiming mental illness. Psychiatrist Dr. Andrew Clark stated that Gregg may have experienced memory loss on the day of the incident. However, he did not overlook the possibility of feigning mental illness.

It was also revealed in court that Gregg used marijuana and took medication for mental health issues. Gregg, who is being tried on charges of murder, attempted murder, and tampering with evidence, could face life imprisonment if found guilty.
