A 35% increase in transportation fares in Istanbul! The full ticket price has risen from 20 lira to 27 lira.

In the UKOME meeting held, the request for a fare increase by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was accepted. Accordingly, a 35% increase was made in public transportation in Istanbul.

IBB'S 46% FARE INCREASE REQUEST WAS REJECTED

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) met on January 6 under the chairmanship of IBB Deputy Secretary General Gürkan Akgün. In the meeting held at Çırpıcı Social Facilities with the agenda of fare increases for public transportation, IBB proposed a 46.09% increase in fares for public transportation vehicles, taxis, school, and staff shuttles. The Regional Director of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Serdar Yücel, stated that this proposal was unacceptable.
