According to information obtained from the China Earthquake Networks Center, the tremor was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers at 09:05 local time. AT LEAST 9 PEOPLE HAVE DIEDChinese media reported that the earthquake was felt strongly in the Dingri region and surrounding areas of Shigatse, and that many buildings collapsed, with initial reports indicating that at least 9 people have lost their lives.
