Max Verstappen won the Qatar Grand Prix in Formula 1. Verstappen reduced the points gap to leader Norris to 12 before the final race of the season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver of Red Bull, won the 23rd stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Qatar Grand Prix.
VICTORY FOR VERSTAPPEN IN QATAR
The race, held on the 5.4-kilometer International Lusail Circuit, was conducted over 57 laps. Verstappen secured his 7th victory of the season and the 70th of his career, finishing with a time of 1 hour, 24 minutes, and 38.241 seconds, leaving his competitors behind.
OTHER NAMES ON THE PODIUM
Starting from pole position, McLaren's Australian driver Oscar Piastri finished second, 7.995 seconds behind the leader, while Carlos Sainz, the Spanish driver of the Williams team, completed the race in third place, 22.665 seconds behind.
POINTS GAP REDUCED TO 12
Verstappen reached 396 points in the drivers' standings, moving up to second place before the final stage and reducing the points gap to leader Norris to 12. Norris remains at the top with 408 points, while Piastri is in third place with 392 points. The final leg of the season, where the champion will be determined, will take place at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 7, Sunday.
