The driver of the tour bus returning from Umrah at Istanbul Airport suffered a heart attack and lost control of the steering wheel. In the accident, the bus collided with a car and was thrown into the barriers. The driver of the bus was taken to the hospital but could not be saved.

Approximately 50 passengers departing from Istanbul Airport and returning from Umrah were transported by a tour bus with license plate 16 FS 327, driven by M.G. The bus collided with a car with license plate 34 GMN 300 at the entrance of the Termal-2 junction on the North Marmara Highway after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. The swerving bus was able to stop after scraping against the barriers on the side of the road for a while. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area upon notification.

IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BUS DRIVER HAD A HEART ATTACK

While the passengers escaped the accident without injury, it was understood that the accident was caused by the bus driver's heart attack. It was learned that the condition of the driver in the car that was hit by the bus was also good. M.G., who was transported to the hospital by ambulance by health officials, unfortunately lost his life despite the interventions. The passengers were transferred to another bus that arrived at the scene with their luggage. Efforts are ongoing to remove the vehicles involved in the accident from the road.
