The Ministry of National Defense announced the project cost for the acquisition of 20 new production Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from the UK. In the statement, the Ministry said, "The project cost for the procurement, which includes 20 new production Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, mission equipment for the aircraft, and various types and quantities of munitions, is approximately £5.4 billion."

The Ministry of National Defense provided information regarding the procurement process of 44 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to meet the operational needs of the Air Force Command. Turkey will acquire 20 Eurofighters from the United Kingdom. The total number will reach 44 with aircraft purchased from Qatar and Oman.

PROJECT COST 5.4 BILLION POUNDS

The Ministry recalled that the contract was signed with the United Kingdom on October 27 as part of the Eurofighter fighter jet procurement process and stated the following:

"A contract was signed with the United Kingdom on October 27, 2025, for the procurement of new production Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, equipment, and various munitions to meet the operational needs of our Air Force Command. The project cost for 20 new production Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, mission equipment for the aircraft, and various types and quantities of munitions included in the procurement content is approximately 5.4 billion British Pounds."

Work is also ongoing regarding the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to be procured from Qatar and Oman to meet the operational needs of our Air Force Command.

GAZA TASK FORCE

Contacts with our counterparts regarding the establishment of a task force in Gaza are ongoing. As the Turkish Armed Forces, preparations are being continued in coordination with the relevant institutions of our state, and diplomatic and military consultations are being held with other countries as one of the architects of the ceasefire agreement.

"SOME UNITS OF THE SYRIAN ARMY HAVE STARTED TO CONDUCT MILITARY TRAINING IN OUR COUNTRY"

The Syrian government continues its diligent efforts for restructuring with all its institutions and units to establish stability and security in the country.

Following the signing of the "Joint Training and Consultancy Memorandum of Understanding" on August 13, 2025, training, visits, consultancy, and technical support activities aimed at increasing defense and security capacity are being carried out in line with the requests of the Syrian government.

In this context, some units of the Syrian Army have started to conduct military training in our country by utilizing the barracks and training areas of the Turkish Armed Forces to meet the capacity development needs of the Syrian Army.

Additionally, matters related to the "integration of the terrorist organization SDG into the Syrian Interim Government" are being closely and sensitively monitored by our Ministry.

TERMINATION PROCESS OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

The process of disarmament and termination of the separatist terrorist organization PKK is being managed and monitored with great care by the relevant institutions of our state.

7 PKK MEMBERS SURRENDERED

The Ministry emphasized that the Turkish Armed Forces continue their fight against terrorism, determination, and decisiveness in protecting borders and ensuring the defense and security of the country on land, at sea, and in the air, sharing the following information:

"Within the scope of the struggle of our Turkish Armed Forces against the risks and threats to our country for the peace of our nation and the survival of our state, in the last week; 7 PKK terrorists have surrendered, and search and seizure operations in our borders and beyond; cave, shelter, and hideout detection and destruction activities have continued, and with the destruction of a 6-kilometer tunnel in Tel Rıfat and Menbic, the total length of tunnels destroyed in the Syrian Operation Areas has reached 708 kilometers (Tel Rıfat: 302 / Menbic 406)."

BORDER SECURITY

"Thanks to the effective security measures taken at the borders, throughout the week; 181 individuals attempting to cross illegally from our borders, including 3 members of terrorist organizations, have been captured, and 881 individuals have been prevented from crossing the border. Thus, since January 1, the number of those caught while attempting to cross illegally from our borders has reached 8,205, and the number of individuals prevented from crossing the border has reached 55,600. Additionally, in the search and seizure operations carried out by our border units, which continue uninterrupted with reconnaissance, surveillance, and patrol activities; 123 kilograms (122,688 grams) of narcotic substances were seized on the Van border line, and 36 kilograms (36,018 grams) of rolled gold were seized on the Hakkâri border line."

49 SYRIAN STUDENTS WILL START EDUCATION IN OUR MILITARY SCHOOLS

Our Turkish Armed Forces, which successfully fulfill their duties in different geographies, continue to make significant contributions to regional and global security, peace, and stability.

In the Army, Navy, and Air War Colleges and Non-Commissioned Officer Vocational Schools of our National Defense University; 696 military school students and 241 non-commissioned officer vocational school students from 29 countries are receiving education to enhance the military capabilities of friendly and allied elements and to contribute to regional security and stability.

As part of the close cooperation aimed at increasing Syria's defense and security capacity, it is planned that 49 Syrian students (10 Army, 18 Navy, 21 Air) will start their education in our War Colleges tomorrow (October 31).

On the other hand, the second round of Confidence-Building Measures Meetings between the delegations of Turkey and Greece was held on October 23 in Izmir. During the meeting, the previously agreed-upon Confidence-Building Measures Activities for 2025 were reviewed, and the implementation plan for 2026 was discussed.

Additionally, within the scope of the "Turkey-Greece Confidence-Building Measures 2025 Implementation Plan," a mixed volleyball competition between the military schools of the two countries will be held from November 3 to 5, hosted by our Army War College.

"ISRAEL IS OPENLY VIOLATING THE CEASEFIRE"

"Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip are openly violating the ceasefire. The full implementation of the ceasefire agreement provided for establishing peace in Gaza is essential for Israel to fully comply with the agreement and for peace and security to be restored in our region as soon as possible. As one of the architects of the ceasefire agreement, our country is ready to contribute to establishing a fair, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the region and to the establishment of peace in Gaza, as it has been until now."
