A chief inspector has been assigned for 12-year-old Eslem Teker, who lost her life after being attacked by stray dogs in Hakkari. Minister Yerlikaya announced that work related to the incident has begun.

12-year-old Eslem Teker, who was attacked by stray street dogs in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, lost her life. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement regarding the issue on his official social media account.

CHIEF INSPECTOR APPOINTED

Minister Yerlikaya stated in his post that a Chief Inspector has been appointed regarding the incident, saying, "We are experiencing the indescribable pain of our 12-year-old daughter Eslem Teker, who was attacked by stray dogs in an empty area on the Silk Road in Hakkari Yüksekova district and could not be saved despite all interventions. A Chief Inspector has been immediately appointed by our Ministry regarding the incident, and they have started their work. We pray for God's mercy on our daughter Eslem and extend our condolences to her family and loved ones."

"THOSE WHO FAIL TO FULFILL THEIR DUTIES WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE"

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, in his statement, expressed deep sorrow over Eslem's death, stating, "A law was published with the awareness that this issue is a matter of public safety, clearly defining the responsibilities of the relevant parties. With these regulations, it has been clearly stated that there should be no stray, ownerless dogs on the streets, and no justification can hinder the fulfillment of this responsibility. However, the irresponsibility of one of the local governments that evaded their legally defined responsibilities unfortunately resulted in the loss of our 12-year-old child's life. Those who cause the victimization of our citizens, especially our children, by failing to fulfill their duties and responsibilities will certainly be held accountable before justice." he said.

"WILL BE FOLLOWED UP DILIGENTLY"

İbrahim Yumaklı stated that the Ministry will closely follow this process until the end, saying, "Our Ministry will continue to carry out its duties under Law No. 5199 with determination. Additionally, all necessary legal and penal actions against those who fail to fulfill their responsibilities in the implementation of the new law will be carried out meticulously by us. We pray for God's mercy on our daughter Eslem and extend our condolences to her family and loved ones."
