Ömer Çoban, an 8th-grade student, told İhlas News Agency, "I was coming home from the market. A black bag next to the trash container caught my attention. I kicked it, it was heavy. When I opened it, I saw that there was gold and some money inside. I ran home and told my mother what I found. My mother said, 'Go immediately and hand it over to the police.' So I went and handed it over right away," he said.

68-year-old İhsan Çoban stated that he is proud of his grandson, saying, "I am proud of my grandson because he handed over the gold and money he found on the ground to the police. My son Ahmet Çoban is a father of 7 children and supports his family by working in construction in Hatay," he said.
