Holidaymakers staying at a hotel in Evrenseki Neighborhood claimed that the staff went on strike due to not receiving their wages, and that they have been suffering from a power outage since last night. Tourists expressed their frustration, stating that there was insufficient cleaning in the hotel due to the staff strike and that the food portions were small.
"STAFF HAS NOT RECEIVED SALARY FOR 1.5 MONTHS"
Aydın Akçalan, a holidaymaker from abroad, stated that he and his wife and three children were in a terrible situation, saying, "I have never seen such a holiday, such a disgraceful hotel. Our circumstances turned out this way. The hotel is filthy, the walls are leaking. We are without electricity, the air conditioning has not been working since last night. The cleanliness is very poor. The staff has not received their salaries for 1.5 months. They are also right. What will happen to us? We are in a miserable situation. We have endured every hardship for 10 days. We paid 2,500 euros. All-inclusive," he said.
"WE ENDURED BUT WE WERE HUMILIATED"
Osman Baloğlu, who came for a holiday with his wife and two children from Gaziantep, said, "Since the day we checked into the hotel, there has been no electricity every day, and the staff is not working. The food portions are small, there is no tea, no coffee. We planned to stay here for about 7-8 days. We have endured for 4 days, but we have been humiliated. We paid 40,800 lira for 2 adults and 2 children. They told us they would refund 13,000 lira for the remaining 3 nights," he reacted to the situation.
HOTEL MANAGER: WE HAVE NO PROBLEMS
The general manager of the hotel, İbrahim Üstüntaş, claimed that there was no issue of staff going on strike, stating, "There was a problem due to the electricity issue. Other than that, we have no problems. The complaints of the guests staying at the hotel are normal occurrences in life.
Last night, the electricity went out in TEDAŞ's system. This is the situation. Today, the staff salaries will also be paid, we have no problems. All of these are normal occurrences in life. We can also lose electricity at home, we can be without electricity until morning. This is not related to the hotel, it is related to TEDAŞ. We have no electricity debt," he said. Meanwhile, it was observed that some holidaymakers staying at the hotel left due to the negative experiences.
