The AK Party Istanbul Provincial Vice Presidents went to the Istanbul Courthouse to file a criminal complaint due to the allegations made against them by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding the operation at the Bayrampaşa Municipality. Provincial Vice President Muammer Birdal described Özel's statements as "baseless slander" and also announced that a lawsuit for "three kuruş" in moral damages would be filed.

After the operation carried out against the Bayrampaşa Municipality, the political discussions that ensued gained a new dimension. Muammer Birdal, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party Istanbul Provincial Organization, went to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan and filed a criminal complaint against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

"BASELESS SLANDER" ALLEGATION

Birdal stated that Özel made "baseless allegations" against the AK Party Istanbul Provincial Deputy Chairmen through Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu, saying, "Özel has made insults and slanders against our Deputy Chairman through the press. There is no concrete basis for these allegations. These statements are nothing but political manipulation," he said.

"WE WILL NOT REMAIN SILENT"

Emphasizing that the AK Party Istanbul Deputy Chairmen will not remain silent against slander and black propaganda, Birdal stated, "We are filing a criminal complaint due to Özgür Özel's unfounded words. Additionally, we will also file a '3 kuruş' (three kuruş) moral compensation lawsuit against him for harming the moral character of each of our Deputy Chairmen," he expressed.

"OUR NATION SHOULD BE AT EASE"

Birdal noted that the AK Party builds its politics on the understanding of service and achievements, not slander, stating, "Our nation should be at ease; we will continue on our path without compromising our values," he said.
