Mansur Yavaş broke his silence regarding the investigation into the concerts conducted by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. He stated that the examinations for the 2021-2024 period revealed no public harm, saying, "They are trying to take this in a completely different direction by adding something like corruption in the tender process."
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) has launched an investigation into 32 concerts held between 2021 and 2024. The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued detention orders for 13 individuals. It is claimed that the state suffered a loss of 154 million 453 thousand lira due to the concerts.
"NO PUBLIC LOSS FOUND"
Following the investigation, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş broke his silence regarding the operation against the municipality. Speaking to journalist Ünsal Ünlü, Yavaş recalled the audits conducted for the 2021-2024 period, stating that no public loss was found.
"WE CONDUCTED OUR OWN AUDIT"
In his statement, Yavaş used the following expressions:
"We conducted our own audit regarding this period (2021-2024) earlier. When questions came about this, it should be noted that the inspectors also conducted an audit, and no public loss was found here."
"THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE IT TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PLACE"
Yavaş stated that the accusations directed within the scope of the operation have been taken to different dimensions, saying, "Now they are trying to take it to a completely different place by adding things like rigging the tender."
HERE ARE THE NAMES OF THOSE DETAINED
As part of the investigation conducted by the Presidency regarding the allegations that the expenses for the concerts organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality between 2021-2024 caused public loss; 13 individuals were detained. According to the report prepared by the Ministry of Interior's Inspectorate, MASAK examination, Court of Accounts audit, and expert reports, it was determined that the administration caused a loss of 154 million 453 thousand 221 lira and 60 kuruş in the procurement of 32 concert services.
Among the suspects in the investigation are the former Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality H. A. B, the former Deputy Director of Cultural Events / Former Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department H. E., the former Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department H. Z, the former Deputy Director of Cultural Events A. A. Ç, the Deputy Director of Cultural Events C. A, the Deputy Director of Cultural Events K. B, the owner of Evren Teknik Grup Music Organization San. Tic. Ltd. Şti O. E, the owner of Universe Production Organization San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. S. E, the partners of Festiva and Enfest Organization Tourism San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. K. A and S. Ç, the partner of Gurudan Tourism Consultancy Organization Advertising San. Tic. A.Ş A. A, and the partners of Yalınayak Food Organization Tourism. San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. E. D and L. E were all simultaneously detained on charges of Misuse of Duty and Rigging the Tender as of September 23.
Operations regarding the capture of the suspects and their transfer to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are ongoing by the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch of the Ankara Provincial Police Department.
