In the Kadıköy Municipal Council, Ahmet Kurtuluş, the 1st Vice President of the Kadıköy Municipality Council, who said to AK Party Council Member Elif Lale Bilgili, "Let's take this out and throw it away," has been released with a travel ban abroad and the condition of signing once a week.

One day before International Women's Day on March 8, a scandalous incident occurred at the Kadıköy Municipality Council. The Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Kadıköy Municipality Council's 1st Vice President Ahmet Kurtuluş for his remarks directed at AK Party Council Member Elif Lale Bilgili, on charges of "Abuse of office," "Obstruction of freedom of expression," and "Obstruction of rights related to public office."

Kurtuluş had been detained as part of the investigation. After his procedures at the Kadıköy District Police Department, Kadıköy Municipality Council Vice President Kurtuluş was referred to the Peace Criminal Court with a request for judicial control in the form of a travel ban.

RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL

Kadıköy Municipality Council Vice President Ahmet Kurtuluş was released with a travel ban and a condition to sign once a week after his statement at the Peace Criminal Court.

WHAT HAPPENED?

During the Kadıköy Municipality Council meeting, while Elif Lale Bilgili was speaking, Ahmet Kurtuluş interrupted, stating that each speaker had a speaking time of five minutes. In response, Bilgili pointed out that the previous speaker, CHP Council Member İpek Demirtaş, had spoken for 10 minutes, asking, "Why is there a time restriction on my speech? We will complete a year, and such a time restriction has not been given to anyone until now, why is it being given to me? Either my microphone is turned off, or there is a restriction, why? I listened to you. Did I not listen to all the criticisms directed at the government? I didn't even open my mouth. Why can't I explain what our government is doing?"

Kurtuluş, reminding Bilgili that her time was up, had her microphone turned off. After AK Party Council Member Bilgili reacted to this situation, Kurtuluş requested the technical team to cut the live broadcast. Following the ensuing argument, Kurtuluş stated, "This is not acceptable. This cannot be like this. Let's take this out, throw it out, for God's sake. We have come to this point." Bilgili reacted to these words and left the hall.
