According to the decision made by the TFF, two Super League matches will be played at the same time as the Galatasaray-Bodo/Glimt match in the UEFA Champions League. This situation has led to criticism.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has implemented an interesting application by scheduling a Trendyol Super League match at the same time as Galatasaray's UEFA Champions League match against the Norwegian representative Bodo/Glimt.
GALATASARAY TO TAKE THE STAGE IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
The yellow-red team, representing Turkey in the UEFA Champions League, the most prestigious organization at the club level in Europe, will host the Norwegian team Bodo/Glimt on Wednesday, October 22. The match will take place at RAMS Park and will start at 19:45.
SUPER LEAGUE MATCHES
On Wednesday, October 22, when the Galatasaray-Bodo/Glimt match will be played, two postponed matches of the 3rd week of the Super League will also take place. The matches between TÜMOSAN Konyaspor-Beşiktaş and Çaykur Rizespor-RAMS Başakşehir will also start at 20:00.
The scheduling of a local league match during the moments when a Turkish team is on stage in the Champions League has led to criticisms that it will negatively affect the atmosphere of the national-status Galatasaray-Bodo/Glimt match and decrease the viewership of the Super League matches broadcasted on a pay-TV platform, thereby impacting the brand value of the organization.
