A Russian airline, Ural Airlines, had to make an emergency landing in Egypt with its Airbus A-321 aircraft carrying 236 passengers. It was reported that the pilot detected a technical malfunction in one of the engines 10 minutes after takeoff.
A passenger plane belonging to Russia made an emergency landing in Egypt shortly after takeoff due to a technical malfunction.
In a statement from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, it was reported that "On Friday evening, an Airbus A-321 belonging to the Russian airline Ural Airlines, with 236 passengers on board, had to make an emergency landing at Sharm El Sheikh Airport while en route to Yekaterinburg, Russia from Sharm El Sheikh."
TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION IN THE ENGINE
It was stated in the announcement that the pilot of the aircraft reported a technical malfunction in one of the engines 10 minutes after takeoff. "Following the technical malfunction, the pilot of the Russian aircraft immediately requested an emergency landing from the air traffic control tower. After the aircraft safely landed at the airport at 16:55 local time, all passengers were also safely transferred to the international terminal," the statement said. It was noted that expert teams have begun procedures to determine the cause of the malfunction and carry out necessary repairs.
