A football player who attacked the referee in Izmir has been arrested.

In the match between Efelergücüspor and Limontepe Gençlikspor, played in the 7th Group of the 1st Amateur League in Izmir, Limontepe Gençlikspor player Celal Çolak (21), who was among those who attacked the match referee Berkay Türkekul and the first assistant referee Abdulkadir Acar, was arrested and sent to prison.

The match was interrupted in the 90+3rd minute, and the referees went to the hospital to obtain a report of the assault and filed a complaint with the police against the attackers.

DETENTION

After the investigations conducted by the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Sports Security Branch, the suspects were caught and detained. The individuals were first referred to the prosecutor's office and then to the 6th Peace Criminal Court for arrest requests. While Y.A. and E.Ç. were released under judicial control, Celal Çolak was arrested and handed over to the Menemen Type T Closed Penitentiary Institution Directorate.
