Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement regarding the forest fires that occurred in İzmir, Bilecik, and Hatay. Minister Yerlikaya announced that over 50,000 citizens have been temporarily relocated to safe areas.
Minister Yerlikaya made a statement regarding the forest fires through his social media account. Yerlikaya reported that over 50,000 people were evacuated following the forest fires that occurred in Balıkesir, Bilecik, and Hatay.
In his post, Yerlikaya included the following statements:
"After the forest fires that occurred in Balıkesir, Bilecik, and Hatay, over 50,000 of our citizens were temporarily relocated to safe areas."
"60 MILLION TL EMERGENCY AID ALLOCATION SENT"
According to initial assessments; 64 houses, 3 workplaces, and 20 barns were damaged in Bilecik; 132 houses and 1 workplace were damaged in İzmir. A 'Decision of General Impact on Life' was made for our provinces of Bilecik and İzmir. Initially, AFAD sent a total of 60 million TL Emergency Aid Allocation, with 30 million TL to the Bilecik Governorship and 30 million TL to the İzmir Governorship. We extend our best wishes to the citizens affected by the fire. Our state stands by our citizens affected by the fire with all its institutions."
