İzmir, the largest city in the Aegean, is facing forest fires. With the increasing effects of hot weather, there has been a rise in forest fires; today, two more forest fires broke out.
FOREST FIRES IN NARLIDERE AND DİKİLİ
The first fire broke out in the forested area located in the Ilıca neighborhood of Narlıdere district. The cause of the fire, which broke out for an undetermined reason, was intervened by the İzmir Regional Directorate of Forestry with 3 planes, 4 helicopters, 22 fire trucks from the air, 6 water supply vehicles, and 3 bulldozers from the ground.
The fire in Dikili district broke out in a non-forested area in the Çandarlı neighborhood. The fire, which broke out at 16:40, was intervened by the İzmir Regional Directorate of Forestry with 3 planes, 3 helicopters, 10 fire trucks from the air, 4 water supply vehicles, and 1 bulldozer from the ground.
It has been reported that both fires have been brought under control, and cooling efforts in the regions are ongoing.
