In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index recorded an increase of 3.36% by closing the day at 9,448.90 points, marking a rise after 1.5 months. The increase was influenced by the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and the positive effects of risk appetite in global markets.

MORE THAN 3% INCREASE ON BORSA ISTANBUL AFTER 1.5 MONTHS

The BIST 100 index increased by 307.59 points compared to the previous close, with a total trading volume of 120.6 billion lira. The banking index gained 4.28%, while the holding index rose by 3.07%. Among sector indices, the transportation sector was the biggest gainer with 7.89%, while the only loser was the chemical, petroleum, and plastic sector with a decline of 2.28%.

RISK APPETITE INCREASED IN MARKETS WITH CEASEFIRE

The optimism stemming from the ceasefire between Iran and Israel is positively affecting the increasing risk appetite in global markets, which is also visible in domestic markets. The index rose due to widespread buying.

On the other hand, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stated that they are focused on preventing the one-time price increase caused by tariffs from becoming a permanent inflation problem, reiterating that they are in a good position to wait for interest rate cuts.

Analysts noted that the data agenda will be calm domestically tomorrow, while abroad, Fed Chairman Powell's statements, new home sales in the U.S., and machine orders in Japan will be monitored.

Analysts expressed that the news flow from the region will have an impact on the direction of the index, noting that technically, the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,450 and 9,550 points, while the support levels are at 9,200 and 9,100 points.
