A former MP from the AK Party has given a date for early elections.

Political circles continue to discuss whether President Erdoğan can run again, while claims related to the issue keep coming in.

During the AK Party's First Congress in Şanlıurfa, when İbrahim Tatlıses asked, "Are you going to run for the presidency in the upcoming term, or not? Let's take this word," Erdoğan responded, "If you are, I am." Erdoğan's answer was interpreted as a signal of candidacy.

While the topic of President Erdoğan's candidacy continues to be discussed, a striking claim came from former AK Party Deputy Şamil Tayyar. In a post on his social media account, Tayyar stated that Erdoğan would run for president again and provided a date for early elections.

"PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN WILL RUN AGAIN"

Tayyar used the following expressions in his post: "The issue of our president's candidacy is on the agenda. In my opinion, it will definitely happen. It is sufficient for the parliament to make a decision for early elections. Will they? I think they will.

Although the CHP leader stated that they are against the schedule after November 2025, it is not compatible with political practice. I believe the CHP cannot oppose a reasonable proposal for early elections.

EARLY ELECTION DATE

Reasonable date? I predict that May 2027 would be suitable, about 1 year earlier. In other words, I think… If our president considers running again, he would prefer to solve this issue with the CHP rather than with the DEM. He will probably solve it."

For Erdoğan to run again, early elections need to be held before the year 2028.
