A horrific serial murder case has emerged in Thailand. 36-year-old Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, a gambling addict, is accused of poisoning 14 people with cyanide. The woman, found guilty of murdering her friend Siriporn in the first trial, was sentenced to death.
The events began last April when Sararat and her friend Siriporn went to the riverbank for a Buddhist ritual. Siriporn soon fell ill and passed away. An autopsy revealed traces of cyanide in her body. This incident led the police to re-examine similar unsolved deaths since 2015.
It was revealed that Sararat, nicknamed 'Cyanide Am', used a horrific method in the murders she committed due to her gambling debts. The woman, who borrowed large sums of money from her victims, would then poison them with cyanide, claiming it was a 'herbal remedy', and after they died, she would steal their valuables. It was determined that she borrowed approximately $9,000 from one victim.
During the police investigation, it was discovered that Sararat's ex-husband, a police lieutenant, and her lawyer also assisted in the murders. Both were sentenced to prison. Sararat faces 13 more murder cases and is charged with a total of 80 crimes.
The deceased Siriporn's mother stated, "Justice has been served for my daughter," while this case has gone down in history as Thailand's first female serial killer case.
