ALLEGATION OF BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE
Police Chief Julian Castaneda, in his statement to El Tiempo newspaper, stated that the accident was caused by a mechanical failure. Castaneda said that the vehicle's brake system failed and the truck suddenly accelerated and left the track.
