The love story that began on social media between Nedim Bilici, who lives in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, and Vietnamese Thi Hoa Chau reached a happy ending when the young woman converted to Islam and they got married in a traditional wedding unique to the region.

Viyan and Nedim Bilici united their lives today in the village of Yeşildere, connected to Yüksekova. Many guests from both domestic and international locations attended the ceremony, which was organized according to the region's traditional and magnificent wedding customs. Guests participated in long folk dances in traditional costumes, sharing in the happiness of the young couple. The wedding, which featured colorful scenes, also attracted great interest from the village community.
"SHE CONVERTED TO ISLAM OF HER OWN FREE WILL"
The groom, Nedim Bilici, shared the story of how he met his wife and their marriage process. Bilici said, "We met and communicated on social media. I went to Vietnam, then I invited her here. We agreed between our families and decided to get married."
Bilici noted that his wife loved the local culture and the wedding very much, stating, "Viyan converted to Islam completely of her own free will. Her family also welcomed this decision positively." He also added that they overcame the language barrier with Turkish and a little Vietnamese.

The bride, Viyan (Thi Hoa Chau), expressed her feelings with the following words: "We met and talked through social media. The culture and traditions here are very different, but I loved them. Especially the folk dances are very different; I will get used to them over time."
