Retirees are waiting for the salary increase to be implemented in January. According to TÜİK data, the quarterly inflation rate is 7.50%, while the year-end estimates suggest that the increase rate may vary between 10% and 13%. Accordingly, the lowest pension is expected to be in the range of 18,500 to 19,000 TL.

With the announcement of the inflation data for September by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), retirees have started to make their first calculations regarding the increase they will receive in January.

THREE-MONTH INCREASE RATE IS 7.50 PERCENT

According to TÜİK data, inflation increased by 2.06 percent in July, 2.04 percent in August, and 3.23 percent in September. Thus, the total inflation for the three months reached 7.50 percent. SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees have already pocketed this rate.

The salary increase for retirees will be finalized with the announcement of the inflation rates for October, November, and December. After the remaining three data points, the total six-month inflation will determine the January 2025 increase.

Different predictions regarding year-end inflation have brought four separate scenarios for the pension increase:

  • Market Participants Survey: 29.86 percent → Increase rate 11.3%

THE LOWEST RETIREMENT SALARY MAY APPROACH 19 THOUSAND TL

Currently, the lowest retirement salary is at the level of 16 thousand 881 TL. According to the scenarios, this amount is expected to exceed 18 thousand TL by the end of the year.

  • With a 10.56% increase: 18 thousand 663 TL
  • With a 10.14% increase: 18 thousand 592 TL
  • With an 11.3% increase: 18 thousand 788 TL
