As diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East gain momentum, a notable peace plan has emerged from France. The Paris administration has prepared a comprehensive proposal to end the ongoing conflicts between Israel and Lebanon. The plan includes Lebanon recognizing Israel, in return for Israel's withdrawal from South Lebanon, the disarmament of Hezbollah, and the establishment of an international monitoring mechanism in the region. French President Macron has also announced his readiness to mediate.

France has proposed a new diplomatic plan to end the ongoing conflicts between Israel and Lebanon. According to a report by the U.S.-based news site Axios, which is based on information from three sources familiar with the matter, the plan envisions Lebanon recognizing Israel for the first time, in exchange for Israel withdrawing from Southern Lebanon.

WILL LEBANON RECOGNIZE ISRAEL?

One of the most notable points of the plan prepared by France is Lebanon's official recognition of Israel. If this step is taken, it is planned to end the state of war that has lasted for years between the two countries and to initiate negotiations for a non-aggression agreement.

ISRAEL WILL WITHDRAW FROM LEBANON

The plan envisions Israel withdrawing from the areas in Southern Lebanon that it has controlled during the conflicts. This aims to establish a new security arrangement between the two countries and to reduce tensions along the border.

PROPOSAL FOR DISARMING HEZBOLLAH

France's plan also includes the disarmament of the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah in Lebanon. Accordingly, it is planned to redeploy the Lebanese army south of the Litani River and to establish an international monitoring mechanism in the region.

THE ROLE OF THE U.S. IS CRITICAL

The report stated that the U.S. and Israel are reviewing the plan, while Lebanon has accepted the proposal as a basis for negotiations. However, it is assessed that the success of the plan largely depends on the strong diplomatic mediation of the U.S.

MACRON READY TO MEDIATE

French President Emmanuel Macron has also announced that they are ready to host possible ceasefire talks between Lebanon and Israel in Paris and to facilitate the process.

Macron stated in a post on his social media account that he has held talks with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, saying, "Everything must be done to prevent Lebanon from being dragged into chaos."

Calling for restraint from the parties in the region, Macron emphasized that the attacks must stop, stating, "Hezbollah must immediately halt this escalation. While hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing the bombings, Israel must abandon its large-scale offensive and cease its intense attacks."

LEBANON GOVERNMENT READY TO SIT AT THE TABLE

Macron indicated that the Lebanese government is willing to sit down with Israel, calling on the Tel Aviv administration to seize this diplomatic opportunity. Macron concluded his statement with the following words:

"The Lebanese government has stated that it is ready for direct talks with Israel. All components of the country should be represented here. Israel should seize this opportunity to initiate talks, ensure a ceasefire, find a lasting solution, and allow the Lebanese authorities to fulfill their commitments to the country's sovereignty. France is ready to facilitate the process by hosting these talks in Paris."
