The General Directorate of Meteorology warned citizens about adverse weather conditions expected to affect many regions of the country. A yellow code warning was issued for 19 provinces, and it was reported that heavy rainfall, snow, storms, and dust transport from the desert are expected.
According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, air temperatures across the country will continue to be above seasonal norms. However, it was stated that there could be negative impacts due to strong rainfall and wind that will be effective in some regions.
HEAVY SHOWERS IN THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN AND SOUTHEAST
Meteorology announced that heavy showers are expected, especially in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia regions. Authorities emphasized the need to be cautious against risks such as flash floods, water inundation, and disruptions in transportation.
SNOWFALL EXPECTED IN EASTERN ANATOLIA
In the high areas of Eastern Anatolia, precipitation is expected to be in the form of mixed rain and snow. It was noted that snowfall could occasionally increase in the regions of Bingöl, Bitlis, Muş, Van, Hakkari, and Şırnak.
YELLOW CODE WARNING FOR 19 PROVINCES
The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a yellow code warning for heavy rainfall for Adana, Adıyaman, Bingöl, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hakkari, Hatay, Mersin, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Muş, Siirt, Şanlıurfa, Van, Batman, Şırnak, Kilis, and Osmaniye. Authorities stressed that citizens living in these provinces should be careful and take precautions.
STORM EXPECTED TO REACH 90 KM/H
Meteorology announced that a strong storm is expected in Southeastern Anatolia and around Hatay, with winds reaching up to 90 kilometers per hour. It was stated that the storm could cause roof blow-offs, tree falls, and disruptions in transportation.
DUST TRANSPORT EXPECTED IN SOME REGIONS
Dust transport is also expected in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia regions. Experts stated that citizens with respiratory issues should be particularly cautious.
