It has been claimed that the U.S. Army is preparing to completely withdraw about a thousand soldiers remaining in Syria within a two-month period. After the completion of this withdrawal process, the American military presence in Syria, which has been ongoing for approximately 10 years, will come to an end.

According to a report by the American Wall Street Journal (WSJ) based on three U.S. officials, the Pentagon is preparing to withdraw its remaining troops in Syria.

THEY WILL WITHDRAW ALL THE SOLDIERS

According to the report, the U.S. military aims to complete the withdrawal of all approximately 1,000 soldiers currently in Syria within two months.

U.S. MILITARY PRESENCE WILL COME TO AN END

After the completion of this withdrawal process, the U.S. military presence in Syria, which has been there for nearly 10 years, will completely come to an end.

Two U.S. officials stated that the U.S. military has completed its withdrawal from the Tanf garrison, a strategic outpost on the borders of Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, and from the Shaddadi Air Base in northeastern Syria earlier this month.

"THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION YPG HAS COMPLETELY DISSOLVED"

The same officials emphasized that the Trump administration decided that the U.S. military presence in Syria was no longer necessary due to the "almost complete dissolution" of the YPG, a terrorist organization that was a partner of the U.S. in the fight against the terrorist organization ISIS in Syria.

DIPLOMATIC CONTACTS BETWEEN TRUMP AND SHARA

On the other hand, another official stated that the Trump administration aims to establish closer diplomatic relations with the government of Syrian President Ahmed Shara in the new process and to manage diplomatic processes against potential threats within the country in this way.

The U.S. Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack, had previously stated that the military had completed 99% of its mission against ISIS, reduced its 8 bases in Syria to 3, and ultimately planned to reduce this to 1.
