RACEHORSES ESCAPED AND RAN ONTO THE HIGHWAY
The incident occurred in the evening hours on the Malatya-Ankara highway near the Sultansuyu Agricultural Enterprise in the Akçadağ district. Allegedly, a group of racehorses that escaped from their paddock ran onto the highway. During this time, passing vehicles collided with the horses.
MANY FOALS WERE LOST
In the accidents, one driver was injured, and many foals were lost. Significant material damage occurred to the vehicles involved in the accident, and numerous police and highway teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. The teams closed the road to traffic in both directions, while the Akçadağ District Governor and the Mayor also arrived at the scene to gather information from the authorities.
Some drivers, stating that the horses collided with their vehicles, said they did not understand what was happening and that the horses suddenly appeared in front of their cars. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
