After the enactment of the regulation known as the "11th Judicial Package," releases have also begun in the Diyarbakır Penal Institutions. A father, whose son received a 15-year prison sentence and has been in prison for 7 years, said, "This prison is terrible; we have been devastated by the back and forth. Our state should support them. They should find job opportunities for these young people."
The 11th Judicial Package has come into effect. In this context, after the completion of the procedures for the prisoners benefiting from the regulation in the Diyarbakır Penal Institutions, their release from prison has begun.
Relatives of the prisoners who received the news of the release started to wait in front of the Diyarbakır Penal Institutions from noon onwards. Emotional moments were experienced in front of the prison from time to time.
HE COULDN'T HOLD BACK HIS TEARS WHILE WAITING FOR HIS SON
Murat Karadağ, whose son received a 15-year prison sentence and has been in prison for 7 years, couldn't hold back his tears. Karadağ expressed his experiences and expectations with the following words:
"15 years is not a small amount, it's a lifetime. They should come to their senses. This prison is bad, we have been devastated by the back and forth. Our state should take care of them. They should do something for these young people, let them find job opportunities. My son has been inside for 7 years, he benefited from this amnesty, we are waiting. Hopefully, he will be released."
Releases in the prisons in Diyarbakır are expected to continue in the coming hours.
