The company that carried out pest control at the hotel where the Böcek family, who lost their lives in Fatih, was staying, has been revealed to have conducted pest control in a house on April 18, after which 3-year-old Karan Yazıcı lost his life. In the report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution regarding the child's death, it was stated that the cause of death was due to pesticide poisoning.

After the poisoning and death of the 4-member Böcek family in Fatih, another scandal has emerged. It has been learned that the company that disinfected the hotel where the Böcek family stayed was involved in the death of a 3-year-old baby after a disinfection carried out in a house in Şişli in April.

THE DISINFECTION COMPANY INVOLVED IN THE BÖCEK FAMILY'S DEATH IS NOT A FIRST OFFENSE

According to the information obtained, after the disinfection carried out on April 18 in an apartment in Halil Rıfat Paşa Neighborhood, the children of a couple living in the opposite apartment fell ill. The family, noticing that the child was constantly vomiting during the night, went to the hospital. The child, who was treated there, passed away shortly after.

A LITTLE CHILD DIED AFTER THE DISINFECTION

It has been learned that Karan's father, Şahin Yazıcı, has filed a complaint against the disinfection company. It has been claimed that the company being complained about is the same disinfection company that allegedly caused the death of the Böcek family in Fatih. An investigation has been initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident. As part of the investigation, the statement of father Şahin Yazıcı was also taken. An autopsy report was requested from the Forensic Medicine Institution.

"THE KITCHEN WINDOW IS THE ONE LOCATED UNDER THE ROOM WHERE MY SON WAS"

In his statement to the prosecutor's office, Şahin Yazıcı said: "When I came home in the evening, I learned that disinfection was being carried out in apartment number 1, which is our neighboring apartment, and that when the person living in the apartment, named Firuze, asked the disinfection company whether it would harm our baby, they replied that there would be 'no harm or effect.' When I entered my residence, I saw that the parts of the disinfected apartment that would allow air to pass were sealed with tape, and when I entered my home, I noticed that the kitchen window of the disinfected apartment was open to allow the poisonous gas inside to escape. This kitchen window is the one located under the room where my son was.

When I entered the house, my son and wife were at home. We started to spend our day as usual. On the night of the same day, that is, after midnight on April 19, Karan started to vomit occasionally. My wife and I thought Karan had caught a cold and checked his temperature from time to time. My son's temperature was normal. After some time, Karan vomited small amounts occasionally. We again thought our son might have caught a cold. Later, my wife also became ill and started to vomit," he said.

'WE DECIDED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL THINKING WE WERE POISONED'

Yazıcı continued his words as follows: "Throughout the night, Karan wanted an excessive amount of water. He drank water until the morning hours. In the early morning, he vomited a large amount and excessively, which was different from his previous vomiting. My wife took off his clothes because he vomited on him. I also felt nausea and wanted to vomit in the early morning, so we thought we were poisoned and decided to go to the hospital. My wife called her father to explain the situation. Then we got ready and went to a private hospital in Şişli for treatment. My father also came to the hospital at that time. First, we applied to the emergency department due to the suspicion of poisoning and informed the staff there that we had not eaten the same food the day before, on April 19, and that our suspicion of poisoning was not due to food. Then they directed us to the Pediatrics department.

My child was taken to the Pediatrics department for treatment. Before going there, an intravenous line was opened. My son's condition was good and he was conscious. Since I also had complaints of nausea, I was treated for suspected poisoning. My treatment also started in the emergency department. I had two IV drips. I was messaging my wife from time to time to learn about my son's condition. During this time, I was receiving IV treatment. I learned that Karan was doing well and had received an IV. Later, I was informed by my wife that Karan had a seizure while blood was being drawn from him and that he was taken under observation. I rushed to the Pediatrics department where my son was, and when I arrived, my son was receiving CPR.

"I FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE FSS DISINFECTION COMPANY DUE TO MY SON'S DEATH"

Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours of CPR was performed on my son. During this intervention, some of the staff continuously went in and out to get missing supplies. At the end of this intervention, we learned that my son's heart had stopped and he had passed away. I believe that my son was affected by the opening of the window in the room where Karan's room was located in the disinfected apartment, and I think the disinfection company was negligent, claiming that there would be no effect from the disinfection. I thought that there was negligence regarding my son Karan's death, and I am a plaintiff and complainant against the company named DSS disinfection that I learned about due to the incident."

In the report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution, it was stated that there was no evidence that the child's death was due to a traumatic cause, and it occurred as a result of pesticide poisoning.

CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION REPORT

In the crime scene investigation report dated April 20, 2025, by the Şişli District Police Department Crime Scene Investigation Group, it was stated: "It was observed that both apartments were located one floor below the entrance, and that there was fan-type ventilation in the bathroom of both apartments. During the investigation, chemical swabs were taken from the garden gates and the walls closest to the other apartment from apartment number 1 and from the bathroom ventilation."

FORENSIC MEDICINE REPORT REVEALED

In the forensic report; it was noted that there were no traumatic lesions described in the external examination of Karan Y., who passed away while being monitored and treated at the hospital for complaints of vomiting; and considering that there were no fractures in the skull, intracranial bleeding, brain hemorrhage, brain tissue destruction, or injuries to internal organs and major vessels; it was noted that disinfection was carried out in their neighboring apartment on April 18, 2025, that the parents and child started to experience nausea and vomiting on April 19, and that they were admitted to the hospital on April 20, 2025, with the same complaints, and after examinations and tests, they were hospitalized with a diagnosis of poisoning, and while their follow-up and treatments were ongoing, the heart stopped, resuscitation was initiated, but despite the interventions, he died, and in the autopsy, no traumatic changes that could cause death were found, and in the examination of tissue samples taken during the autopsy by the Chemistry Specialization Department, aluminum and zinc were found in the blood, and when evaluated together with the manner of death, it was stated that the child's death occurred as a result of pesticide poisoning.
