In Şanlıurfa, 8-year-old Mert Ali Yavuz was seriously injured when the goalpost he was playing on at the gym where his father worked toppled over onto him. The seriously injured little Yavuz lost his fight for life at the hospital where he was taken.

FATHER AND SON CAME TO THE SPORTS HALL
The incident occurred at noon at the Akabe TOKİ Anatolian High School Sports Hall. According to the information obtained, İbrahim Yavuz, who works as a physical education teacher at the school, brought his son Mert Ali with him to the hall to give basketball training to trainees as part of a summer course.
GOAL POST FELL ON HIM
During the training, little Mert Ali, who started playing with the iron portable goal post in the hall, was trapped under the post, which could not withstand the weight when he tried to climb its net. The severely injured child was pulled out from under the post with the intervention of his father and those in the hall and taken to the hospital by the ambulance called to the scene. However, 8-year-old Mert Ali could not be saved despite all the efforts of the doctors.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
After the autopsy procedures, the body of Mert Ali Yavuz, handed over to his family, was buried with tears following the funeral prayer held at Sırrın Mosque. A comprehensive investigation into the incident is ongoing.
