The incidents that took place at a kindergarten in Kağıthane, Istanbul are shocking. On the first day of school, a child was left alone in the garden and cried for minutes. Videos taken by neighbors show the child crying and asking for help. Mother Dilek Ergül filed a criminal complaint against the kindergarten.

An allegation has been made that a child starting a kindergarten in Kağıthane was left behind in the schoolyard.

The incident took place on Monday, August 19th, at a kindergarten on Zengin Street in Çağlayan Neighborhood. Dilek Ergül, the mother who claims that her child was left alone in the yard while all the other students were in class on the first day of kindergarten, filed a criminal complaint against the kindergarten.

SEEKING HELP FROM A WOMAN

In the footage, it can be seen that the child was left alone in the schoolyard and cried for a while. The person who recorded the footage said, "This is a private kindergarten. The child has been crying for two hours, and no authority or staff member is coming to help. I will publish these videos on social media by mentioning the name of this kindergarten. Please choose the kindergartens you give your children carefully, otherwise your children will cry like this all day long. No staff member is paying attention." At that moment, the child brought his play table to the wall and climbed on top of it, then asked the woman for help.

"HE CRIED UNTIL HE WAS OUT OF BREATH"

Dilek Ergül, the mother of the child who was allegedly left behind in the yard, said, "It was my son's first day. He played for a while, and then I left the school. When I went to pick him up, he had cried until he was out of breath and was still crying. They told me it was normal, so I took him home. The next day, when I went to the school and said I wanted to talk to the principal about a matter, they probably thought that I had learned about this incident and wanted to bring it up themselves. The incident was as follows: they say that they left my son in the yard for 15 seconds while they went to get playdough. At that moment, someone from the opposite building recorded a video of the child and shared it on social media. They had the video removed. I contacted that person and got these videos. They are about 3 minutes long. The child is shouting, 'Save me, I got lost here.' The child is actually aware of everything, but he can't enter the building because the door is open. My guess is that he can't enter because he was scared. He is shouting to the woman who is calling from the window, 'Save me, help me.'"

MOMENTS OF CRYING AND CALLING "MOM" CAUGHT ON CAMERA

The moments when the child, who is said to be 2.5 years old, was left alone in the kindergarten yard were captured on a mobile phone camera. In the footage, the child can be seen crying and shouting "Mom." When the woman who recorded the footage asked, "What happened, my son?" the little child brought the toy table to the wall. The footage also includes moments when the little child tries to explain something to the woman who recorded the video.

"THEY SAY IT COULD BE A MOMENTARY NEGLIGENCE"

Ergül, who stated that she filed a criminal complaint, said, "The child's psychology is terrible. The school contacted me and said, 'It could be a momentary negligence.' They want to have tea and make peace. I don't want that. Let's overcome the trauma that this child has experienced. My child doesn't stop at all, he is a very lively child, but he keeps crying."

"THIS CHILD COULD HAVE BEEN MY CHILD"

İsa Kaynar, a parent who said that he came to the school after watching the videos on social media and thinking that the crying child was his own, said, "We have taken our child from the kindergarten now, it's over. There won't be a second day. We don't want him to come here anymore. This is a very wrong situation, this child could have been my child. I saw the videos on social media, left work, and came here."
