WHAT HAPPENED?
The teams of the Public Security Branch of the Provincial Police Department, coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, had been conducting work to dismantle criminal organizations and capture the suspects.
In this context, simultaneous operations were carried out on February 20 in Adana, Kocaeli, Sivas, and Sakarya, centered in Istanbul, against suspects identified as being involved in 55 actions, with the support of the Intelligence, Riot Police, and Special Operations branches, resulting in the capture of 41 suspects.
In the operations, 1 kilogram and 132 grams of a drug substance referred to as stone cocaine were also seized. It was determined that among the suspects captured in the 5th wave operation against the mentioned criminal organization, 7 were women and 3 were under the age of 18.
Additionally, it was reported that one of the leaders of the organization, managed by instructions from abroad, was captured in France and imprisoned, while 3 other leaders were wanted with a red notice.
It was understood that the organization lured children under the age of 18 into crime by promising them power and money through virtual networks, but did not provide any money after the actions.
Moreover, it was determined that the attack on director Seren Yüce, who was shot and injured in her home in Şişli on December 30, 2025, was also linked to this criminal organization.
