FROM THE FICTION OF THE NOVEL TO A REAL MUSEUM
The Museum of Innocence was brought to life based on the eponymous work of Nobel Prize-winning author Orhan Pamuk. A 19th-century mansion in Istanbul was transformed into a museum by the author to reflect the atmosphere of the novel. The museum is notable for being the first museum created from the fictional universe of a novel.
The exhibition areas, curated with the belongings of the characters from the novel and objects from the daily life of the period, offer visitors a physical experience of the story.
Officials note that the number of visitors is expected to increase even more in the coming days, emphasizing that the series has heightened interest in cultural venues.
The museum, which opened in 2012, is located in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, in Çukurcuma, between İstiklal Street and Tophane.
