A tragic incident occurred in Indonesia. 45-year-old Parlindungan Siregar killed his 60-year-old neighbor Asgim Irianto, who constantly asked him why he wasn't married. The incident took place on the evening of July 29, around 8:00 PM in Tapanuli Selatan, northern Sumatra. Siregar attacked Irianto with a piece of wood. According to Assistant Police Commissioner Maria Marpaung, Irianto tried to escape but fell to the ground after being hit. Siregar continued to strike him until neighbors intervened. Irianto, who was severely injured, died on the way to a local health center while being taken there by his neighbors. Siregar was arrested shortly after and confessed to planning the murder. The police stated that the reason for the attack was Irianto constantly mocking Siregar for being unmarried. The police also revealed that the two neighbors had previously had disagreements and frequently argued about their chickens entering each other's coops. This tragic incident reminded of another bizarre murder that occurred in Indonesia last month. In that incident, a man stabbed his friend at least 15 times to death during an argument over whether the chicken or the egg came first. This recent incident once again highlights how seemingly trivial disputes can have dangerous consequences.
