In a horrific incident in the Alps region of France, a mother accused of stabbing her three children to death was found dead in Switzerland. According to French media reports, 45-year-old teacher Deborah Pel, who lived in the town of Taninges, fled in her Audi after killing her children, aged 2, 11, and 13. The children's lifeless bodies were discovered at home by their grandmother and grandfather, who reported the situation to the police. A police team of about 60, along with helicopters and diving teams, began the search. The mother, who holds both French and Swiss citizenship, was detected crossing the Swiss border and was found dead in her car shortly thereafter. According to information obtained from the Bonneville prosecutor's office, it was learned that mother Pel had been undergoing treatment for depression recently. Pel, who worked as a teacher at a school in Marnaz, had previously been transferred from another school following complaints from parents about her "harsh treatment of the children." It was also revealed that Pel, who played an active role in the local community and worked at a music school, received an award in 2022 for her 30-year flute playing career. The incident has caused great sorrow in the region, while officials at the Jacques Brel middle school, where the children were educated, refrained from making a statement on the matter. It was noted that an informational meeting would be held for students and parents at the school where the mother worked.
