NATO has confirmed that Romanian F-16 fighter jets stationed in Lithuania shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle in Estonian airspace.
Estonia announced that a drone entering the country's airspace was shot down by a NATO fighter jet. NATO also confirmed the development.

NATO Spokesperson Allison Hart made a written statement to an AA correspondent on the matter. Hart stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and NATO and Estonian authorities are in close contact.
Confirming that Romanian F-16 fighter jets stationed in Lithuania as part of NATO's Baltic Air Policing mission shot down a UAV in Estonian airspace, Hart assessed, 'NATO is ready and capable 24/7 against potential aerial threats to protect our territories and ensure the safety of our people.'
