In an investigation following an incident in Kocaeli's İzmit district where a person climbed a shopping mall's fire escape, claiming 'I have no money to return to my homeland,' and attempted suicide, only to come down after citizens collected money for him, it was revealed that he was a scammer who had traveled to many cities in Turkey using the same method.

In the Izmit district of Kocaeli, a person who climbed the fire escape of a shopping mall said they would jump, prompting the dispatch of fire brigade, health, and police teams to the area.

While fire brigade teams took safety precautions against the possibility of a jump, a chief inspector negotiator from the Kocaeli Provincial Police Department went up to the roof to persuade the person.

BYSTANDERS COLLECTED MONEY AMONG THEMSELVES

When the person claimed they had no money to return to their hometown, bystanders collected money among themselves and gave it to them. Then, the persuaded person was safely brought down from the stairs.
