Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced that significant transformations in healthcare will take place with the proposed legislative changes submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Minister Memişoğlu stated, "A series of fundamental changes will be implemented to advance our healthcare system," and listed seven items, including increased inspections in pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu stated in a statement made from his X account that the proposed legislative change submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will open the doors to a new era in healthcare. Minister Memişoğlu said, "Hopefully, a new era will begin very soon. A series of fundamental changes that will advance our healthcare system will be implemented."
Minister Memişoğlu listed the 7 items one by one. Here are those items;
- It was emphasized that with the proposal, a digital application option for organ donation will be provided, and a new structure will be established based on the donor's decision. This aims to make the processes easier and more accessible.
- It will be possible for physicians working in private hospital staff to provide services in two healthcare institutions. It was stated that with this regulation, physicians' earnings will reflect on both their severance pay and retirement benefits.
- One of the important items of the proposal is that healthcare services will be strengthened with new definitions of health professions, and the professional organizations of opticians will be made active.
- It was stated that the approval of patients and their relatives for medical procedures and applications can now be obtained in a digital environment. This is expected to facilitate the approval processes, making them more practical, especially in emergency cases and remote healthcare services.
- It was noted that inspections in the pharmaceutical supply chain and medical device sectors will be increased, and a series of new security measures will be implemented.
- It was reported that the promotional and informational activities of private healthcare institutions will be monitored more closely. It was emphasized that those who seek to gain commercial profit through deceptive and misleading promotional/advertising activities will not be allowed.
- It was stated that the production and sale of medicines obtained from medical cannabis, special medical food products, and personal care products will be subject to stricter regulations with a sustainable and controlled production model. It was expressed that licensing and monitoring processes will only be carried out by the Ministry of Health.

Health Minister Memişoğlu clearly stated that with the knowledge, technical capacity, and qualified human resources available at this point, much more is aimed for. The Minister emphasized, "I once again underline that we are progressing steadily towards our vision of a Healthy Turkey Century and Leading Turkey in Global Health." Memişoğlu thanked those who contributed to the preparation of the legislative change proposal and wished it to be beneficial for our country, our nation, and the healthcare community.
