On August 8th, tourist Kenji Lao Wang unintentionally captured this chilling moment in a video with his family. In the footage, while a family is chatting on the deck, a person falling into the sea can be seen in the background.
Screams and the sound of water were heard during the incident, and the ship's crew immediately took action. The ship was stopped and rescue boats were deployed into the sea. However, despite the search efforts, the fallen passenger was unfortunately found dead.
According to local media TVBS, the victim of the accident was a 30-year-old Taiwanese man. It was reported that he lost his balance and fell on the upper deck at around 11:00.
Taiwanese actress Xu Wei'an, who was on the ship, witnessed the incident and described watching the rescue efforts.
The ship was on a six-day tour from Taiwan to Japan and South Korea. The incident occurred as the ship was returning to Taiwan.
