A person, who was reported to have psychological problems due to family issues, attempted to harm themselves with a knife on the D-100 Highway in Istanbul's Büyükçekmece district. The individual, who alarmed the police and caused long vehicle queues in the area, was taken into custody and hospitalized after intensive persuasion efforts by the teams.

SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE D-100 HIGHWAY

The incident occurred around 17:00 at the Mimaroba location of the D-100 Highway. According to reports, a person who fell into depression sat in the middle of the road amid fast-moving traffic. Despite all warnings from drivers and bystanders, the individual did not move, prompting citizens to immediately notify the police and medical teams.

SOME LANES OF THE ROAD WERE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

Upon the report, numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene. For safety reasons, the police closed some lanes in both directions to ensure controlled traffic flow. Due to the narrowing of the road, heavy traffic quickly formed on the D-100 Highway, causing difficult moments for drivers.
