In an incident that occurred around 10:30 PM in the Sultaniye neighborhood of the district, İlhan Sapil, who was reported to have psychological issues, had an argument with his brother Barış Sapil over a rental dispute. In the escalating argument, older brother İlhan Sapil shot his brother 4 times with the gun he had with him, and then fled to his house on the same street, locked the door, and took his children hostage.

ATTACKED HIS CAR WITH A HAMMER

The suspect was captured and taken into custody by special operations police. In his statement at the police station, İlhan Sapil said that he and his brother had a joint business and purchased 4 apartments with their earnings, and that a feud arose when they wanted to end their partnership. The suspect later stated that they had another argument because his brother damaged his car with a hammer, which led to the incident.
