The co-chair of the DEM Party, Tülay Hatimoğulları, stated that Abdullah Öcalan does not have a insistence on leaving Imralı, but that the PKK has such a demand. Hatimoğulları said, "He certainly does not have such an insistence. However, the organization has such a demand. They want him to be free. They present it as a condition."

Co-Chair of the DEM Party, Tülay Hatimoğulları, made striking statements regarding the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process during a television program she attended.

"THEY WANT TO DO POLITICS IN THE OPEN"

Hatimoğulları stated that members of the PKK who have decided to lay down their arms want to return to Turkey and participate in democratic politics. Speaking live, Hatimoğulları said, "Those who have held weapons until today said, 'We want to do politics in the open.' They want to be included in civilian life and integrated into democratic politics. They are demanding the opening of a new page."

"LEGAL REGULATIONS ARE NECESSARY"

Hatimoğulları emphasized that there is a need for legal regulations for this process to progress healthily, noting that PKK members who return to Turkey will face the risk of arrest. Hatimoğulları stated, "If PKK members are going to be arrested when they come, they cannot come. Therefore, naturally, legal regulations should be made for the cadres that lay down their arms among the concrete steps."

"PKK WANTS ÖCALAN TO BE FREE, THEY PRESENT IT AS A CONDITION"

The Co-Chair of the DEM Party argued that channels should be opened for Abdullah Öcalan to communicate with everyone, saying, "For example, he wants those journalists to come. He wants to give interviews. He wants to convey this process to the public more strongly."

On the other hand, Tülay Hatimoğulları stated that Öcalan does not have an insistence on leaving Imralı, but mentioned that the PKK has such a demand. Hatimoğulları said, "He certainly does not have such an insistence. He has tied it to individual and societal freedom. But the organization has such a demand. They want him to be free. They present it as a condition."
