Gürhan Albayrak, the AK Party Provincial Chairman of Eskişehir, expressed strong criticism of Korkmaz in a statement on his social media account. Albayrak said: "This elitist mentality that considers the baggy trousers and traditional attire of Anatolian women as 'ignorance' has actually displayed its own ignorance. Attacking a mayor elected by the votes of Mihalgazi residents for three terms based on her appearance is an insult to the values of this nation."

INVESTIGATION INITIATED
Following the incident, the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation against the suspect for "inciting hatred and hostility" due to the post made against Mayor Güneş.
ARRESTED
Upon the instruction of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined through research and work conducted by the Provincial Police Department that the account owner who made the post was M.E.K. The individual was detained by the teams and sent to prison.
STATEMENT FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
In a statement from the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated: "An investigation has been initiated ex officio against the suspect due to the post made by the social media user with the nickname 'MEKorkmazTR' on the social sharing platform named X against Mihalgazi Mayor. The Provincial Police Department of Eskişehir has been instructed to capture and detain the suspect. As a result of the research and work conducted by the Eskişehir Provincial Police Department, it was determined that the account owner who made the post was M.E.K., and the suspect has been detained. The suspect's interrogation has been completed by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and a request for their arrest has been submitted to the Duty Magistrate's Court under the charge of inciting hatred and hostility, and they have been arrested and delivered to the Closed Penal Institution. This is respectfully announced to the public."
